Privacy Policy

1. The App

TextPolisher is a macOS menu-bar application that rewrites selected text using Apple Intelligence, Apple's on-device language model. All text processing happens locally on your Mac using Apple's Foundation Models framework.

• No text is transmitted to any server. Your drafts, rewrites, and clipboard contents never leave your device.
• No login required to run the app. The app itself does not ask you to sign in; your subscription is managed separately through your website account (see section 3).
• No telemetry or analytics from the app. The app does not phone home, does not track usage, and does not send crash reports to us.
• Your license key is stored locally in your Mac's Keychain and is only used to verify your subscription offline.

2. Who We Are

For the purposes of the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the data controller for account and billing data is Daniel Leonti, the operator of TextPolisher. You can reach us using the contact details in section 12.

3. Account & Subscription Data

To purchase and manage a subscription you create an account on textpolisher.app. For this we collect and store:

• Email address — to identify your account and send account/billing emails.
• Password — stored only as a salted hash by our authentication provider; we never see your plaintext password.
• First and last name — required by our payment provider to process the charge and appear on your receipt.
• Subscription status, plan, and renewal date — to give you access and manage billing.
• Your license key — a signed token that unlocks the app.

This data is stored using Supabase (authentication and database). The legal basis for processing is performance of a contract (providing the subscription you signed up for) and, for security logs, our legitimate interests.

4. Payments

TextPolisher requires a $1/month subscription. Payment is processed by Hyp (hyp.co.il), our third-party payment provider. We do not store your payment card details — these are handled entirely by Hyp, subject to their privacy policy. We retain a recurring-agreement identifier and basic transaction records (amount, date, subscription status) as required for billing and legal/accounting compliance.

5. The Website

When you visit textpolisher.app, standard web server access logs may be collected by our hosting provider (Cloudflare). These logs may include your IP address, browser type, and pages visited. We use this data solely for security and performance monitoring.

With your consent, the website uses Microsoft Clarity, a session recording and heatmap tool. Clarity only loads after you accept optional analytics cookies in our consent banner; if you decline, it is never loaded. When enabled, Clarity may collect anonymized information about how you interact with the site (mouse movements, clicks, scroll depth) to help us improve the website experience. Clarity does not identify you personally. You can learn more at clarity.microsoft.com/terms.

6. Update Checks

When you click "Check for Updates…" in the app, it makes a single HTTPS request to dl.textpolisher.app/appcast.json to fetch the latest version number. This request may include standard HTTP metadata (IP address, user-agent). No personal data beyond what is inherent to an HTTP request is sent, and no information is stored on our end beyond standard server access logs.

7. Subprocessors & Third-Party Services

We share the minimum data necessary with the following providers, each acting as a processor or independent controller:

• Supabase — account authentication and subscription database.
• Cloudflare — website hosting, our billing worker, and content delivery.
• Hyp — payment processing and recurring billing.
• Resend — transactional emails (e.g. sending your license key), when enabled.
• Microsoft Clarity — anonymized website analytics.

The app's text processing relies on Apple Intelligence (Apple's on-device Foundation Models). We have no access to how Apple's models process your text; see Apple's Privacy Policy. Some of these providers may process data outside your country; where required, such transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

8. Your Privacy Rights

If you have an account, you have the right to access, correct, export, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to erasure ("right to be forgotten"). Specifically:

• Access & correction — view your email and update your name on your account page. To change your account email, contact us.
• Deletion — permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from your account page using “Delete my account.” This cancels any active subscription and removes your profile, subscription record, and license key. You can also email us to request deletion.
• Portability & other requests — contact us and we will respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. Data Retention

We keep your account and subscription data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your authentication record, profile, and subscription data are removed. We may retain limited billing/transaction records where required by law (e.g. tax and accounting obligations) and anonymized server logs for a limited period.

10. Children's Privacy

TextPolisher is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

11. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify users via the app's update mechanism or by email.
